I have been in the retail industry for over 30 years.  I bought my first store in partnership with my brother and have since expanded to 7 stores with a turnover of £9m and over 90 employees. In recognition of our hard work and commitment, we have won several trade and local accolades, including Asian Trader’s Retailer of the Year awards in 1994 and 2011.

Following a business re-structure in 2014, we sold 4 stores to a European investor. In addition to the 3 remaining NISA stores, we are also continually expanding our property portfolio.

I enjoy working in the convenience sector as I face new challenges every day, which I find hugely rewarding.  As well as running the stores, I believe that it is important to contribute on a broader platform. Over the years, in addition to being on the Partners for Growth Retailer Advisory Panel, I have held positions on a number of associations and boards, including being Chairman of Nisa Symbol Development Committee, Nisa Board Director, Board of Skillsmart Retail UK, Director on the ACS Independent Retailer Board and a trustee on the Sweet Charity Board.
